ADAMSON showed steely resolve to fend off University of the Philippines in extra innings, 4-3, and annex its 11th consecutive UAAP softball championship in the winner-take-all Game 3 of the Finals on Wednesday night at the UP Field.

With no outs in the extra inning, the Lady Falcons drove Alaiza Pichon and Season MVP Angelu Gabriel home to seal the title after a throwing error from Fighting Maroons second baseman Algrace Adajar.

“Ang ganda ng laro para sa sport dahil talagang magandang championship game. Masaya ako at suwerte para sa amin na pabor sa amin ang kapalaran. At masaya ako doon,” said long-time Adamson coach Ana Santiago.

After losing, 2-3, in extra innings in the opener, the Lady Falcons kept their dynasty alive with a after dominant 15-2 series-tying victory in Game 2 last Saturday.

Best Pitcher and Finals MVP April Minanga took over the mound in the fifth inning, limiting UP to a single run in the eighth and a hit.

Gabriel also won the Best Hitter (.480) and Best Slugger (1.000 SA) awards.

Khrisha Cantor earned the Most Home Runs (two) award, while Roma Jane Cruz contributed the Most Runs-Batted-In (nine) to the Lady Falcons’ success this season.

University of Santo Tomas, which finished in third place, has still something to celebrate as Helga Campos earned the Rookie of the Year honors along with the Most Stolen Bases (three) award.
