Corrupt

A rising sentiment

AS the end of the Duterte administration fast approaches, there’s a rising sentiment that the happy days of the remaining “rotten eggs” in the government service are over.

Still others, including the ordinary citizens, believe that the incoming government is in the best position to restore the people’s trust and confidence in their leaders.

“Mahigit 31 milyong Pilipino, marami sa kanila ay mga kabataan, ang bumoto kay Pangulong Marcos noong nakaraang halalan,” said a newly-registered voter in Manila.

The nefarious activities of corrupt men and women in the bureaucracy cannot be ignored by the new national leadershjp, headed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

President Marcos prefers a clean start for his incoming administration, but it does not mean that government officials and employees with pending corruption cases will be cleared.

In a news briefing, President Marcos’ Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles, a lawyer by profession, clarified that pending corruption cases against public servants will continue.

Likewise, Angeles was also quick to explain that the new administration, which assumes office at 12 noon on June 30, should not concentrate too much on fault-finding.

Thus, the incoming leadership is right in calling on all erring government officials to change for the better because “Mr. Marcos ay magiging Pangulo na ng ating bansa.”

Certainly, corrupt men and women and other “rotten eggs” in the bureaucracy have no place in the government of the Chief Executive from Ilocos Norte.

These wayward Filipinos need to be shocked into realization that there’s that urgent need to rid government offices and agencies of dead woods, thieves, and incompetents.

Dapat lang kasi galit na galit na ang taumbayan sa mga kawalanghiyaan sa mga opisina ng gobyerno.
