54 new corrections officers to join BuCor force

THE Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) is set to deploy 454 newly trained corrections officers to seven prison facilities across the country, marking a significant boost to its workforce.

A total of 379 males and 75 females successfully completed the rigorous Corrections Basic Recruit Course (CBRC), qualifying them for their roles as corrections officers.

The graduation ceremony for Class 20-2022, dubbed “Mandatos” (Mananatiling may Dangal at Tapat sa Organisasyon at Serbisyo), took place last Friday at the Parade Grounds of New Bilibid Prison.

The event was graced by the presence of BuCor Director General Gregorio Catapang Jr., AFP (Ret.), who also served as the distinguished guest of honor and keynote speaker.

The ceremony served as an opportunity to recognize the outstanding achievements of the graduates in various categories.

The top performers of the class, listed in numerical order, were CO1 David F Caimoy, CO1 Princess Mae D Etulle, CO1 Robin A Gacias, CO1 Demie Anne Zedice T Yamon, CO1 Joyce Marie B Gonzaga, CO1 Doris Stephanie T Abella, CO1 Jay G Quisay, CO1 Rasheena Jane T Encarnacion, CO1 Jep G Omehang, and CO1 Rachael L Reponte.

CO1 Steven Zenrick Gaspar was honored with the Leadership Award, while CO1 Robin A Gacias received recognition for Tactical Leadership. CO1 Romello L Belloca (male) and CO1 Demie Ann Zedice T Yamon (female) were lauded for their exceptional Marksmanship skills. Finally, CO1 Jayson O Lampago (male) and CO1 Sheryl J Villasi (female) secured the prestigious Bernardo Carpio award.
