In a statement, the DOH in Region 11 said the cases were recorded in Davao Oriental, 2; Davao del Norte, 1; and one returning overseas Filipino (ROF) with an address in Davao Region.

Out of the four cases, two are from Mati City, Davao Oriental, a 33-year-old male and 32-year-old female who tested positive on July 10.

Their specimens were sent to Southern Philippines Medical Center and were tagged as recovered after finishing the prescribed isolation period.

“They are scheduled for a repeat reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction test,” the statement read.

In Tagum City, Davao del Norte, a 38-year-old pregnant woman tested positive for the variant.

The patient was swabbed and tested positive for COVID-19 at the Davao Regional Medical Center on July 23.

She is in isolation at a temporary treatment and monitoring facility in Davao del Norte.
