POLICE rounded up around 26 individuals, including a senior citizen, for allegedly engaging in illegal gambling locally known as billiard poker Thursday before dawn in Caloocan City.

Northern Police District (NPD) Director P/BGen. Jose Santiago Hidalgo, Jr. said the raid was conducted at around 1:40 a.m. at the corner of Autria and Bustamante Streets, Brgy. 88 following a tip received by District Special Operation Unit (DSOU) chief P/Lt. Dimaandal immediately directed P/Capt. Melito Pabon and his men to verify the authenticity of the information and during a brief stake out conducted by policemen in civilian clothes, they witnessed the group of men accepting bets in the illegal gambling game which prompted operatives to swoop down on the area resulting in the arrest of 26 men including a 63-year-old man.

Police recovered from the suspects a total of P17,000.00 bet money, deck of cards, four cue sticks, tow boxes of cue balls and two triangle set.
