TWO alleged pimps have been apprehended in an entrapment operation conducted by agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in General Mariano Alvarez (GMA), Cavite.

In a press statement, the NBI-Cybercrime Division (CCD) identified the suspects as Rodel Miranda, also known as “Gigzo,” and Jesus Manuel Genio, also known as “Buboy.”

The operation was initiated after a tipster reported that a social media account under the name “Gizgo Anap Reyes” was being used as an online front to traffic children and adults.

The NBI-CCD conducted online surveillance, which revealed that the social media account was involved in prostitution, as it posted several pictures of girls being offered for paid sexual services.

Undercover agents of the NBI-CCD were able to transact with “Gigzo,” and on March 6, the suspect transported several girls to an apartelle in GMA, Cavite.

The suspect was immediately arrested after receiving the marked money, and his companion Genio was also apprehended.

The operation also resulted in the rescue of nine trafficked victims who are now under the supervision and care of local social workers.

The suspects were presented for inquest proceedings before the Department of Justice (DOJ) for violation of Republic Act No. 9208 (Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003), as amended in relation to R.A. 10175.
