TWO Bilibid Gang leaders whom suspended Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) chief Gerald Bantag allegedly stabbed while drunk in February have already executed their affidavits, bureau officer-in-charge Gregorio Catapang Jr. said on Wednesday.

Dito naman nangyari yung krimen,” Catapang said over radio station DZBB.

According to Catapang, inmates Jonathan Cañeta and Ronald Usman will be assisted by bureau lawyers in filing physical injury complaints against Bantag, who was preventively suspended following the death of middleman Jun Villamor.

Bantag was also accused of masterminding the murder of broadcaster Percy Lapid last October 3 in Las Piñas City.

The gang leaders claimed that Bantag, who was allegedly drunk during that time, stabbed them in his office last February 1.

The next day, they were again summoned to Bantag’s office and a certain “Zulueta” allegedly gave them P50,000 each to remain silent.

Meanwhile, Catapang also on Wednesday disclosed that former bureau deputy security officer Ricardo Zulueta allegedly greenlighted the stabbing of an inmate in Leyte after the latter failed to meet the “quota” in the illicit sale of booze and cigarettes in prison.

Catapang, a former chief of staff of the Armed Forces, said the inmate was incarcerated at the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City before he was transferred to Leyte Regional Prison in Southern Leyte for his alleged failure to meet the minimum sale in contrabands, like liquor and cigarettes.

Zulueta is one of the principal suspects in the death Lapid. He is also being implicated in the murder of Villamor.
