2 Chinese, Pinoy Pal nabbed for kidnap
AGENTS of the Regional Special Operations Division of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) early morning Tuesday arrested two Chinese nationals and their Filipino pal accused of kidnapping another Chinese in Parañaque City, NCRPO director, Major General Vicente D. Danao Jr. said yesterday.
The suspects were identified as Xin Zhao, Siguo Gan and Yves Ian Panganiban.
Danao said the three were arrested during an operation along Aseana Avenue in Parañaque City 3:45 a.m. Tuesday which resulted in the rescue of Chinese national Wen Hua Zhou.
Recovered during the operation were a Pietro Beretta pistol with ‘PNP’ markings, one 9mm magazine with 12 live ammunition, a 10-inch ‘balisong’ and a sling bag containing P920,000.
The suspects’ white Toyota Fortuner was impounded by the NCRPO-RSOG officers under Lieutenant Colonel Melvin R. Montante.
Prior to the rescue operation, a Malaysian national identified as Chin Li Li, accompanied by a Filipino co-worker went to the NCRPO-RSOG office to seek assistance regarding the presence of three men who were reportedly holding the Chinese national inside an SUV along Aseana Avenue.
Officers led by Major Elvin John Tio rushed to the site where they rescued the victim and arrested the three suspects.
One of the suspects fired shots at the NCRPO-RSOG officers but missed prompting one member of the team to return fire hitting the suspect’s left arm.
The suspects are now being investigated at the NCRPO headquarters in Camp Bagong Diwa in Bicutan, Taguig City. They will be facing charges for abduction and illegal possession of firearm and ammunition, Danao said.
