Yemeni national held for growing marijuana

CORDILLERA policemen on Saturday arrested a 21-year- old Yemeni national for growing marijuana plants in his rented house in Baguio City.

Cordillera Police Regional Office director Brig. Gen. Ronald Lee identified the suspect as Hussein Muaad Hasan alias “Muath Yaf,” a resident of 140 Purok 5, Bakakeng Central in Baguio City.

Armed with a search warrant for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 issued by Judge Maria Liyaya Itliong-Rivera, members of the Baguio City Police Office and the local Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency raided the house of the African national past 1 p.m. Saturday.

The Yemeni national was arrested after officers discovered three pots with fully-grown marijuana plants and some six grams of cannabis stalks in his place.
