WRAPPING up its most successful preliminary round run in club history, Choco Mucho wants to go deeper in the Premier Volleyball League Second All-Filipino Conference.

Deanna Wong, currently the league-leader in the setting department, is determined to steer the Flying Titans to the next.

“Siyempre we’ll give our best, we’ll do our best. We won’t disappoint you ever again. Tingnan natin sa laban sa semis,” said Wong after Choco Mucho overpowered Chery Tiggo, 25-16, 25-19, 25-23, before more than 6,000 fans at the University of San Agustin Gym in Iloilo Saturday night.

The victory, the 10th in 11 matches, securing the Flying Titans’ No. 2 ranking in the semifinal round.

“It’s the system and the teamwork we have learned during training,” said Wong in summing up Choco Mucho’s unbeaten run since dropping a four-set defeat to Creamline last Oct. 15.

The Flying Titans will play the No. 3 squad while the Nos. 1 and 4 tangle in a pair of best-of-three semis playoffs. The winners will dispute the championship in another best-of-three affair.
The Crossovers finish the prelims campaign with an 8-3 card and will carry the burden of a two-game losing skid. Barring any reversals in the final day of preliminaries, Chery Tiggo will most likely end up at No. 3 for another clash with Choco Mucho.

The Flying Titans displayed exceptional hitting, finishing with 48 attack points, led by Sisi Rondina’s 13 and Maddie Madayag’s nine, against the Crossovers’ 38 to underscore the team’s dominance throughout the one-hour, 23-minute match.

“Thankful sa naging performance, kami talaga nag-dictate ng tempo sa first two sets,” said Choco Mucho coach Dante Alinsunurin. “Sa third set nandoon din kami, medyo kumapit din ng bandang huli ang team. Masaya kasi lahat ng gusto naming mangyari nakuha namin.”
