MARIING ipinag-utos ni Pang. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ang pagbabawal sa lahat ng mga opisyal at empleyado ng gobyerno na gumamit ng wangwang, blinkers at iba pang kahalintulad na signaling o flashing devices para sa kapakanan ng publiko.

Batay sa Administrative Order No. 18, binigyang diin ni PBBM na ang hindi awtorisado at pagkalat ng mga wangwang at iba pang devices ay nagdudulot ng pagkaantala ng trapiko at hindi ligtas na mga kalsada at kapaligiran.

“All government officials and personnel are hereby prohibited from utilizing sirens, blinkers and other similar gadgets that produce exceptionally loud or startling sounds, including dome lights, blinkers, or other similar signaling or flashing devices,” saas ng AO.

Samantala, exempted naman sa direktiba ang Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Philippine National Police (PNP), fire trucks, hospital ambulances at iba pang emergency vehicles.

“In this light, all government officials and personnel are hereby reminded that use of sirens, dome lights, blinkers and other similar devices shall only be under exigent or emergency circumstances or situations or to ensure the expedient and safe passage of emergency responders,” saad ng AO.

Kasabay nito, ipinag-utos din ng Malakanyang sa Department of Transportation (DOTr) at iba pang ahensya ng gobyerno ang pag-review, pag-regulate o pag-evaluate at pag-update sa mga umiiral na polisiya at patakasan upang matiyak ang epektibong emplementasyon ng nasabing direktiba.
