W. Visayas cops collar region’s no. 1 MWP
POLICE Regional Office 6 (PRO6) Director Brigadier General Leo M. Francisco, on Saturday announced the capture of the no. 1 “most wanted person” (MWP) in Western Visayas during a manhunt operation in Antique province.
“We have arrested the most wanted man in Western Visayas in an intelligence-driven operation in Antique in line with the order of Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, General Rodolfo S. Azurin Jr. for us to further intensify our effort against wanted criminals,” said the PRO6 director.
Francisco said the suspect is wanted for three counts of rape.
Judge Josefina Muego of the Culasi, Antique Regional Trial Court recommended no bail for the temporary liberty of the accused, who was tracked down in Sitio Magtang in Bgy. Harigue 2:00 p.m. Friday.
According to Francisco, the suspect is the subject of a massive manhunt operation after he was listed as the no. 1 MWP in Region 6, in Antique province, and in Caluya municipality.
The official said that members of the Caluya Municipal Police Station, the Antique Police Provincial Office, and PRO6 Regional Intelligence Division and Regional Intelligence Unit 6 joined hands in arresting the suspect, who is now being held in a local police jail pending the issuance of a jail commitment order on him by the court.
