VP’s ‘tambaloslos’ IG post downright conduct unbecoming, according to netizens
Many netizens reacted negatively to the recent Instagram post of Vice President and Education Sec. Sara Duterte where she seems to take potshots at a still unidentified person, saying it was tantamount to conduct unbecoming.
Duterte on Sunday posted a selfie, with the caption, “Sa imong ambisyon, do not be tambaloslos,” which came after an alleged destabilization plot against the leadership of the House of Representatives that was later denied by her close ally, former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo who is also deputy speaker of the chamber.
“Tambaloslos” is a Visayan mythical creature that has a large mouth and genitals, and it is a term often used to describe a person who is all talk, no real talent.
According to netizens, even if the vice president did not identify the person behind her post, it is not proper for the second highest official of the land to resort to such coarse language.
They added that the VP is also the Secretary of the Department of Education, thus serves as a role model for the public, especially children.
Some even said that instead of posting cryptic and inappropriate messages on social media, she should just focus on the problems besetting the education system in the Philippines.
These include the shortage of classrooms, the anomalous sale of laptops in retail stores instead of being utilized by teachers, providing educators with performance-based bonuses, and the hiring of additional teaching personnel.
