BATANGAS – A MOTHER and her 11-year-old daughter appeared at the police station the other day to file a complaint against the minor’s uncle for “molesting” her inside their house in Barangay Gimalas, Balayan, Batangas.
Balayan Municipal Police Station (MPS) Chief Capt. Alberto H. Nogoy, Jr. said the mother reported that her daughter was molested by her own uncle.
According to the victim, she was at her grandmother’s house around 5:00 p.m., and while watching TikTok in her bedroom, together with the suspect, his uncle suddenly undressed, touched her breast, and inserted his finger in her private part.
The rape incident was caught in the act by the victim’s grandmother, who angrily shouted at the suspect, “What did you do to her?”
She immediately called the Bgy. Gimalas officials to report the incident.
The suspect was apprehended and turned over to the police station.
Further, the victim added that this incident happened “often” but failed to recall the date.
The Balayan Police coordinated with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) personnel to assist the victim who was brought to Batangas Medical Center for a medico-legal examination.
The suspect may be charged with violating Republic Act 8353, known as The Anti-Rape Law of 1997, in relation to Republic Act N0 7610 or a Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
