Two new teams in PVL
THE Premier Volleyball League will have two new teams in the Invitational Conference in Farm Fresh and Gerflor.
The Foxies and the Defenders introduced themselves through their social media posts, as the league’s newbies hope to make an immediate impact in the mid-season tournament set to open later this month.
College of Saint Benilde star Mycah Go was the first player who was unveiled by Farm Fresh.
A NCAA MVP who was instrumental in building the Lady Blazers dynasty, Go will suit up for the Foxies via the special guest license.
In 2021, the NCAA allowed its student-athletes to play in professional leagues as long as they have SGLs issued by the Games and Amusements Board (GAB).
“The Farm Fresh fam is joining spiker @_mycss in her quest for a restart in her volleyball career,” the club posted, mentioning Go’s Instragram account, through its social media pages on Sunday night.
Go missed the entire NCAA Season 98, where Benilde won its second straight title, due to a knee injury she sustained at the start of the year.
Meanwhile, setters Fhen Emnas and Sarah Verutiao were the two players presented by Gerflor yesterday.
“Sarah and Fhen will set the court on fire with their precise and impressive moves! We all hope for your support as they embark on this journey with us. Let’s go!,” the Defenders posted on social media.
A product of Adamson, Emnas previous clubs were Bureau of Customs, Perlas and Army Black Mamba.
Verutiao is a former Arellano University standout who will make her pro debut for Gerflor.
