ADAMSON has parted ways with coach Jerry Yee after just one year.

After an impressive 10-4 record and a third place finish in the just-concluded UAAP women’s volleyball tournament, the Lady Falcons will be searching for another coach to sustain the gains they achieved after going through several disappointing campaigns.

In a statement released yesterday afternoon, Adamson expressed its regret in making the decision a day after Yee was formally announced as head coach of new Premier Volleyball League club Farm Fresh.

“It is with regret that we announce the release of Coach Jerry Yee from his commitment with ADAMSON UNIVERSITY as the Head Coach of the Women’s Volleyball Team (WVT), effective today, June 7, 2023,” the school said in a statement through its social media accounts.

“We understand his desire to return to the professional league, and though it saddens us to see him go, he has our complete and sincere support in his new endeavor.”

Under Yee, the Lady Falcons have reached the Final Four for the first time since 2013-14 season and logged their first 10-win campaign since 2007-08 where they finished the eliminations at 12-2 and went all the way to the Finals.

Yee was tapped to replace Lerma Giron months after Adamson lost to Ateneo in a playoff for the last Final Four in Season 84 last year.

This season, the Lady Falcons were able to go deeper thanks to the solid heads-up plays of their main hitters Trisha Tubu, Kate Santiago and Lucille Almonte and Louie Romero’s playmaking.

The school’s decision to release Yee came just a week after Romero has opted to stay in San Marcelino.

Still, Adamson remains grateful to the contributions made by Yee to the program.

“The Adamson University community would like to express our gratitude for all his contributions to the recent success of the WVT in Season 85. It was an inspiring journey for the Lady Falcons, and without him as their Head Coach, their podium finish would not have been possible,” the school said.

“Once again, thank you, Coach Jerry. We wish you all the best!”
