PRESIDENT Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. completes on Wednesday, August 31, the first two months or 62 days of his six-year presidency, which ends on June 30, 2028.

This early, some of his visions, which he enumerated when he delivered his well-applauded first state-of-the-nation address last July 25, are shaping up, according to supporters.

One of the top priorities of Mr. Marcos, the only son and namesake of the late President Ferdinand E. Marcos of Ilocos Norte, is bringing down the prices of goods and services.

The other priorities are economic recovery, food security, agricultural smuggling, coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic response, health, and employment generation.

The new Chief Executive is also expected to go after government officials and employees, who persist on their corrupt practices to the detriment of the country and the Filipino people.

“Talagang paghahabulin ng administrasyong Marcos ang mga lingkod-bayan na ayaw tumigil sa kanilang mga kalokohan,” according to an avid supporter of President Marcos.

As he gears up for the third month of his administration, President Marcos is seen to also intensify the campaign against illegal recruitment, which has victimized many Pinoy jobseekers.

Everybody agrees that there’s that urgent need to hit hard at these “economic saboteurs.”

Those behind the deployment of undocumented overseas Filipino workers, (OFWs), local and foreign-based, ought to be identified, arrested and charged in our courts.

Ito ay kung gusto nating protektahan ang mga kawawang kababayan natin na gustong magtrabaho sa labas ng bansa.
