Tanza holds ‘Buntis Congress’
TANZA, Cavite – More than 410 pregnant mothers went to the “Buntis Congress 2023” organized by the Tanza local government unit (LGU) under Mayor Yuri Pacumio Friday, May 26, 2023, at the 2nd floor of SM Center Tanza in Barangay Daang Amaya.
Tanza Rural Health Unit (RHU), led by Dr. Ruth Punzalan, together with the barangay health workers of 41 villages, facilitated the program.
Tips were given on the proper care of carrying a person for nine months, including the free pre-natal check-up at their respective Barangay Health Offices.
“Buntis Congress disseminates the proper care of the womb during the nine months of pregnancy is explained here, explaining what happens and what is forbidden during pregnancy,” Dr. Punzalan said in an interview.
The twice-a-year program also conducted free HIV testing for pregnant mothers with this year’s theme, “Proper Preparation and Care for the Safety of Mother and Child.”
The Tanza LGU also distributed 30 strollers, cash prizes, gift certificates, vitamins and pregnancy kits for mothers who participated in the said event.
Municipal Administrator Tutuy Sanariz, Councilor Icel Morales, Sherlyn Langit also attended the Buntis Congress.
