Speaker Romualdez to award plaque, cash to Gilas and other Asian Games athletes
HOUSE Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez will honor the Gilas Pilipinas Basketball Team after bringing home the gold medal to the country, after 61 years.
It can be recalled that Gilas defeated Team Jordan by a score of 70-60 in China last Friday.
According to Speaker Romualdez, “Gilas taught us Filipinos once again our resilience against all odds, yun bang never surrender attitude.”
” Maraming salamat Gilas at maraming salamat sa mga atleta na nag-uwi din ng medalya,” added Speaker Romualdez.
Along with all members of Congress, the House Speaker will give each athlete a plaque and cash with a total value of P10 million.
Ani Romualdez, “These great men showed us that nothing is impossible and could not be achieved basta sama-sama and everybody gives his best.”
” Hindi pa ako ipinapanganak ng huling maging kampeon ang Pilipinas sa Asian basketball. Kaya we have to celebrate,” added the leader of Congress.
