SPEAKER ROMUALDEZ ADDRESSES PALAWAN FISHERS’ CONCERNS
Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez, alongside Deputy Majority Leader and ACT-CIS Partylist Rep. Erwin Tulfo, ACT-CIS Partylist Rep. Edvic Yap, and Palawan 2nd District Rep. Jose Alvarez, addresses the concerns raised by five leaders representing fishermen groups in Aborlan, Palawan, during their meeting at the Palawan Provincial Capitol on Friday. The livelihood of the fishermen has been impacted by tensions in the West Philippine Sea and competition with large fishing vessels from other nations. Speaker Romualdez, caretaker of Palawan’s 3rd District encompassing Puerto Princesa City and Aborlan, pledged to act on their requests, which include scholarships for their children, ice storage facilities to preserve their catch, and the establishment of a gasoline station in Kalayaan Island to provide fuel for their boats.
