LAKAS-CHRISTIAN Muslim Democrats vice presidential candidate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte has assured political leaders from Isabela and Cagayan that she would work to uplift the lives of Filipinos and make it peaceful as she recognized the local leaders’ support during her campaign in the two foremost provinces of Cagayan Valley on Tuesday.

The leading vice presidential bet, who is running alongside Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos under the UniTeam, acknowledged the overwhelming support of Cagayan Gov. Manuel Mamba, Isabela Gov. Rodolfo “Rodito” Albano III, and other political leaders from the two provinces, including members of the House of Representatives, mayors and other municipal and village executives.

Cagayanos and residents of Isabela lived up to being part of the so-called “Solid North” by coming out in droves to show their support during Mayor Duterte and the UniTeam’s campaign in the two key provinces of Region II, cramming up the streets and jamming the vice-presidential candidate’s motorcade as it moved around the two provinces.

Duterte thanked Albano, Isabela Vice Gov. Faustino “Bodjie” Dy III, Isabela Rep. Tonypet Albano, and other political leaders for the warm welcome and solid support to her candidacy.

In the province of Cagayan, Duterte extended her family’s profound appreciation of the Filipinos’ support to her father, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

Mayor Duterte echoed the words of Mamba that while not all of the Cagayanos voted for her father and supported him during the campaign in 2016, they immediately supported him once he became the president.

The Lakas-CMD vice presidential candidate said she would continue the legacy programs of her father, including his campaign against illegal drugs and his infrastructure development “Build, Build, Build” project.
