AN online post led to the arrest of two brothers who tried selling a stolen motorcycle (MC) on social media.

The suspects are being held on charges of violation of Republic Act 10883 or the New Anti-Carnapping Law, RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition, and Presidential Decree 1612 – the Anti-Fencing Law.

A report from the Holy Spirit Police Station 14 showed that before the incident, the suspects flagged down a Grab delivery rider along Republic Avenue in Bgy. Holy Spirit at around 4:50 a.m. on Wednesday.

The duo held the victim at gunpoint, took his motorcycle, and sped off towards Commonwealth Avenue.

Hours later, the victim learned from co-delivery riders in their chat group that his motorcycle, a Honda PCX, was posted online “for sale”.

He sought assistance from operatives of Station 14, who in turn conducted an entrapment operation against the suspects, which led to their arrest at around 7:00 p.m.

Police also recovered another motorcycle the suspects stole in Taytay, Rizal, last June 24.

Seized from the siblings are one .38 caliber handgun, identification cards, and driver’s licenses of different persons.
