Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, or BJJ, is a self-defense martial art and combat sport. This sport focuses on controlling and taking an opponent to the ground. With several techniques, you aim to have a dominant position and force the opponent into submission. This sport plays a big part in Angela Morena’s portrayal as Elise on BJJ: Woman on Top, streaming exclusively on Vivamax.

Elise (Angela Morena) is a woman in distress who must learn how to stand up for herself after a humiliating and scandal. Marco (Jiad Arroyo), her former suitor, and Riza (Alexa Ocampo), Elise’s classmate and Marco’s girlfriend make fun of her.

She then meets Ace (Yuki Sakamoto), who introduces her to the martial art and combat sport Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ). Elise enrols herself in the BJJ class to further hone her skills. Marco also signs up for this class to keep an eye on Elise and attempts to woo her back. Riza learns about this and becomes vengeful towards Elise.

Elise, on the other hand, slowly starts falling for Ace as she continues to have private BJJ lessons from him. They eventually get together for a passionate lovemaking, where Elise realizes that the moves in BJJ can also be used in bed. Doing this makes her feel empowered, especially when she becomes dominant and is on top of Ace. But despite everything, their relationship is still a blur because Ace is still grieving from the death of his fiancé.
