Risa ready to follow SC order on Quiboloy case

Thus assured by Senator Risa Hontiveros who confirmed that she will abide by the recent Supreme Court ruling in the controversial case of founder and leader of Kingdom of Jesus Christ Apollo Quiboloy.
Reportedly, the Supreme Court asked the office of Hontiveros to comment on the argument posed by the lawyer of Quiboloy. The Senate was given by the Supreme at least 10 days upon receipt of notice to submit its comment.
“While we have yet to receive and read the Order, we certainly will comply with the directive of the SC, cognizant of the principle of separation of powers and with only the highest respect for our institutions. ” Hontiveros said in a press statement.
It can be recalled that Hontiveros who chairs the Senate Committee on Women, Children, Family Relation and Gender Equality issued an arrest order against Pastor Quibloy for his refusal to attend the hearing on the allegations of sexual abuse against minors and human trafficking.
Quiboloy raised the issue before the Supreme Court asking for the highest court to nullify the said arrest warrant against the KOJC leader.
“Umaasa ako na ang mga prinsipyong ito ay gagabay sa ating lahat, kasama na ang puganteng si Apollo Quiboloy.” Hontiveros said.
