THE provincial government of Bataan has a “gimmick” to encourage its constituents to have themselves vaccinated against the deadly coronavirus disease.

It will give out rice to those who will join the three-day national COVID-10 vaccination days that started yesterday and will end tomorrow.

Under the “Handog sa Bakunadong Bataeño” campaign, each participant will receive five kilos of rice as an early Christmas present.

“Ito’y bilang pakikiisa sa Bayanihan, Bakunahan ng Department of Health upang masiguro ang pangmatagalang proteksiyon ng ating mga kababayan laban sa pandemya at maipagpatuloy ang pagbaba ng mga kaso ng coronavirus disease sa Bataan,” Gov. Albert Garcia, in a social media post, on Sunday said.

The governor urged everyone to avail of the free vaccination against COVID-19 to protect themselves from the severe effect of the virus and also to attain high percentage of vaccinated population that would signal the opening of businesses.

Garcia earlier discussed the rice provision program via Zoom in his meetings with all the mayors, barangay chairpersons and municipal health officers.

The governor added that the program aims to make the vaccination program successful.

Meanwhile, in La Trinidad, Benguet, people who will have themselves inoculated will be entitled to a raffle ticket.

Among the prices are cellphones and cavans of rice.
