QCPD nabs 513 drug suspects, seizes P16M illegal drugs
THE Quezon City Police District (QCPD) reported the arrest of 513 drug suspects and confiscation of P16,864,863.60 worth of illegal drugs in a number of buy-busts from September 1 to October 26, 2023.
PBGen. Redrico Maranan, QCPD chief, said police stations and units of QCPD conducted a total of 304 anti-drug operations which resulted in the confiscation of 2,130.66 grams of shabu, 18,228.13 grams of marijuana and 135 grams of kush or high-grade marijuana.
On top of these were the operations conducted by the Novaliches Police Station (PS 4) under PLt. Col. Jerry Castillo that led to the arrest of 48 drug personalities and the confiscation of P2,684,999.60 worth of illegal drugs followed by the District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) under Officer-in-charge PMaj .Wennie Ann Cale who apprehended 7 drug suspects and confiscated P2,194,000 worth of shabu and marijuana.
The Payatas Bagong Silangan Police Station (PS 13) under PLt. Col. Leonie Ann A Dela Cruz confiscated P979,480 worth of illegal drugs and arrested 37 drug suspects, while the Galas Police Station (PS 11) under PLt. Col. Reynante Parlade nabbed 37 drug suspects and seized P668,088 worth of illegal drugs.
Meanwhile, operatives of the Holy Spirit Police Station (PS 14) under PLt. Col. May Genio arrested 33 drug peddlers and seized P575,920 worth of illegal drugs.
“Lubos akong nagpapasalamat sa mga taga-Lungsod Quezon na sumusuporta sa ating pagsusumikap laban sa ilegal na droga,” Maranan said as he commended the QCPD operatives headed by their respective station commanders for their accomplishments.
