QC cops nab 278 drug suspects, seize P5M illegal drugs

THE Quezon City Police District (QCPD) has arrested 278 drug suspects and confiscated illegal drugs with an estimated value of P5,164,508 from October 1 to 31, 2023.

PBGen. Redrico Maranan, QCPD director, said a total of 165 anti-drug operations were executed by 16 police stations and other operating units of the QCPD.

These efforts led to the seizure of 735.41 grams of shabu, 1,341 grams of marijuana and two grams of Kush, a high-grade form of marijuana.

The Novaliches Police Station (PS-4), led by PLt. Col. Jerry Castillo, arrested 26 drug suspects and seized P1.037 million worth of illegal drugs.

The Anonas Police Station (PS 9) under PLt. Col. Ferdinand Casiano detained 18 drug suspects and confiscated P262,920 worth of illegal drugs.

The La Loma Police Station (PS 1) under PLt. Col Romil Avenido arrested 29 drug suspects and seized P78,620 worth of illegal drugs.

Operatives from other police stations and units arrested 195 drug peddlers, resulting in the confiscation of illegal drugs valued at P3,785,968.

“The QCPD’s unwavering dedication to eradicating illegal drugs is evident. Through relentless buy-bust operations like these, we persistently strive to protect the integrity of Quezon City and the well-being of its residents from the detrimental effects of dangerous drugs,” stated PBGEN Maranan.
