POLICE Regional Office (PRO) 11 Director Brigadier General Benjamin H. Silo Jr., on Tuesday, announced the arrest of four known drug personalities in Southern Mindanao following separate anti-narcotics operations, which led to the seizure of nearly P100,000 worth of shabu.
In a report to Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Gen. Rodolfo S. Azurin Jr., the official said that two of the suspects, both described as “high-value individuals” (HVIs) in Davao City, were arrested in a buy-bust operation inside Regina Compound in Barangay 20-B past 6 p.m. last Saturday.
Members of the Davao City Police Station 18 confiscated an estimated P15,000 worth of the so-called “poor man’s cocaine” and a marked P500 bill from the suspects.
The duo was both construction workers residing in Koronadal City and Midsayap, Maguindanao.
Two other suspects were arrested during a buy-bust operation in Rosalina 1, Bago Gallera, Davao City, on the same evening. Seized from the duo were around 12 grams of shabu worth P81,600 and the buy-bust money.
All four suspects are now facing charges for violating Republic Act (RA) 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, said Silo.
