THREE most wanted persons in the Calabarzon region were arrested by agents of the Regional Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit 4-A in separate manhunt operations last Sunday, Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) Director Brigadier General Romeo M. Caramat Jr. said on Tuesday.

The official said the now jailed suspects with the alias “Kenneth,” described as the 3rd MWP in Quezon; alias “Hazel,”; and “Ryan,” tagged as the 2nd and 3rd MWPs in the Batangas province.

“Kenneth” was arrested near his residence in Barangay Pinagbayanan in Pagbilao, Quezon, on the strength of a warrant for a non-bailable warrant of arrest for rape issued by Judge Maricel Magpantay-Ng of the Lucena City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 58 last January 9.

On the other hand, the two other suspects were arrested based on a warrant for violation of Republic Act (RA) 10683 or the New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2013 issued by Judge Annielyn Medes-Cabelis of the Pasig City RTC Br. 167 last January 6.

The Pasig City judge recommended a P300,000 bail for each of the accused. “Hazel” is a businesswoman from South Caloocan, while “Ryan” is from Cuenca, Batangas, said Caramat.

Members of the CIDG Region 4-A headed by Lieutenant Colonel Joel Manuel A. Ana tracked down the suspects amid an order from Caramat for them to further intensify their campaign against wanted persons, loose firearms, and organized crime gangs.

Caramat has given all his 17 regional and other operating units to ensure that they will be able to pass his standard when it comes to the launching of the CIDG’s simultaneous anti-criminality law enforcement operations (SACLEO) or the so-called “One-Time, Big-Time” anti-crime operations until the end of the month.
