PBBM’s 4Ps for homeless in San Juan
PRESIDENT Marcos Jr.’s flagship Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4 Ps) will soon be enjoyed by hundreds of homeless families in San Juan City, Manila – thanks to Human Settlement and Urban Development Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar who made this project possible.
Acuzar along with San Juan mayor Francis Zamora on Tuesday, led the groundbreaking ceremony for the 30-storey building that can house more than 1,000 families.
The ceremony was attended by Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC) president Federico Laxa.
Rising in Barangay Batis, the housing project will provide 1,029 housing units, each measuring 25 sqm for San Juanenos.
The project shall also feature modern amenities, including a multipurpose area and other essential facilities.
Acuzar said the building is just one of the multiple housing projects proposed by the city government to DHSUD under 4PH.
Acuzar reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to fast-tracking housing projects in response to President Marcos Jr.’s directive and the reported housing needs in this city.
“More than just another event or another project launch, this is a dream turning into reality. Today is not just about getting a house, but finally having a place to call home,” he stressed.
The DHSUD chief also emphasized that his office will continue collaborating with local governments and key shelter agencies (KSAs) to ensure the timely delivery of quality homes.
SHFC, one of DHSUD’s KSAs, is spearheading the project in a 2,577 sqm lot area secured by the local government.
Laxa assured the potential beneficiaries, present during the event, that they would fast-track the construction as they have gained the full support of San Juan City.
