Parañaque guest robbed of P35K, cellphone at Pangasinan resort

SAN JOSE CITY – A visiting guest from Parañaque City who was part of a 35-man contingent that checked in at a beach resort in Bolinao, Pangasinan was robbed by an unidentified man of his cash amounting to P35,000 and a mobile phone on Friday night.

Robbed was Paul Calado, a local tourist and member of a group that allegedly included a Parañaque civilian disaster unit. They arrived at the Treasures of Bolinao beach resort and hotel in Bgy. Patar at 3 p.m. Friday here.

Aileen Gines, front desk officer told People’s Tonight that the victim learned about the theft at about 6 p.m. after checking his belongings at their room located at the ground floor of the hotel’s garden view main house.

This reporter, who came here with his family to celebrate the 27th birthday of his only daughter on Nov. 13, arrived at the resort at past 7 p.m. and noticed a commotion going at the lobby with a police car parked outside and its red warning lights flashing.

A review of CCTV footages installed at the resort showed a man running towards its front gates, said Gines.

“Ni-review ng pulis ang CCTV at nakita ang mukha ng lalaki,” she told this reporter.

Gines added the victim was so mad that he allegedly blamed the hotel staff for the lax security that caused his money and cellphone to get stolen.She claimed that it was the first time since working there that a hotel guest had been robbed.
