Pangasinan LGU employee-turned-HVT nabbed

POLICE Regional Office 1 director Brig. Gen. Lou F. Evangelista yesterday announced the arrest of an employee of the Urdaneta City local government unit in Pangasinan-turned “high-value target” during a buy-bust operation.

The official said that the 46-year-old target yielded four heat-sealed plastic sachets containing around 200 grams of shabu worth P1.360 million and the buy-bust money topped by a marked P1,000 bill during the sting in Bgy. Anonas around 7 a.m. Saturday.

The suspect’s Toyota Innova with plate no. NFL 5331 was impounded by the local police.

“This is part of our stepped-up campaign against illegal drugs and other forms of criminality in Ilocos-Pangasinan region as ordered by Philippine National Police chief Gen. Rommel Francisco D. Marbil,” said Evangelista.

The official also reported the arrest of a 52-year- old drug target from Bani, Pangasinan during an entrapment operation in Bgy. Poblacion in Alaminos City last Sunday.

He said that the suspect, who is now being held at the Alaminos City Police Station jail, yielded 17 grams of shabu worth P115,600 and the buy-bust money.

Both suspects will be facing non-bailable charges for sale and possession of prohibited drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
