The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (Pagcor) led the groundbreaking ceremony Friday for the proposed P50-million two-storey Multi-Purpose Evacuation Center located in Bgy. San Gregorio, San Pablo City, Laguna.

San Pablo City Mayor Loreto Amante together with the Sangguniang Panglungsod under Vice Mayor Justice Colago, department heads and other guests warmly welcomed Pagcor Chief Operations Officer Alfredo C. Lim , representing Pagcor Chairman Andrea Domingo, Pagcor Directors Reynaldo Concordia and Gabriel Claudio and other Pagcor frontliners, as the city government celebrates its 81st anniversary as Charter City.

The evacuation center is part of the national government projects under the initiative of President Rodrigo Duterte to help the victims of calamities in the country.

The building will have a clinic, comfort room, shower room and kitchen as well as a warehouse for relief goods. It will be maintained by the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.

Amante is giving another P7 million to complete the amenities of the building.

Lim said the building will also be used as venue for other government activities. “Puwede rin magsasagawa ng mga pagsasanay o pag-aaral na magagamit ito,” he said.
