
P.3M shabu seized from HVI in Navotas City
ILLEGAL drugs worth more than P350,000 were seized by authorities from a high value individual (HVI) during a buy-bust operation Saturday evening in Navotas City.
Navotas police chief P/Col. Allan Umipig said elements of Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) led by P/Capt. Luis Rufo, Jr. arrested Ronaldo Jorge, alias “Buboy Tibayan”, 52, jobless and resident of B. Cruz St., Brgy. Tangos-South after the suspect handed a medium size plastic sachet containing suspected shabu to Pat. Julius Salviejo who acted asa poseur-buyer in exchange for marked money amounting to P10,000.
In his report to Northern Police District (NPD) Director P/BGen. Ponce Rogelio Penones, Jr., Col. Umipig said operatives of SDEU conducted discreet surveillance and monitoring operation against Buboy Tibayan following information they received from their confidential informant about the suspect’s involvement in illegal drug trade in the City of Navotas.
The sting was carried out at around 10:02 p.m. along A. Cruz St. Brgy. Tangos-South after the suspect made a transaction to a police poseur-buyer on the
sale of illegal drugs worth P10,000.
Arresting officers confiscated more or less 51.50 grams of shabu with corresponding standard drug price of P350,200 from the suspects, along with the marked money consisting of a genuine P1,000 bill and nine P1,000 bills used as boodle money.
The marking and physical inventory of confiscated evidence were conducted in the presence of Brgy. Kagawad Lauro Cruz of Brgy. Tangos-South and veteran reporter Ismael “Ka Maent” Santos of the CAMANAVA Press Corps.
Case investigator P/SSgt. Ramir Ramirez said the suspect was presented for inquest proceedings before the Navotas City Prosecutor’s Office on charges for violation of Section 5 (Sale) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drug), Article II of RA 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
