Over a thousand get jab in Naic
NAIC, Cavite — Over a thousand residents of the coastal town here under the priority groups A1, A2 and A3 or health care workers (HCWs), senior citizens and those with comorbidities have received the AstraZeneca and Sinovac vaccines in a month of vaccination in Amisa Medical Mission Inc. in Bgy. Cabuco.
Mayor Junio Dualan said the local health office has begun giving the second dose of Sinovac on HCWs in both private and public health units, including the rural health staffs.
A total of 1,083 Naiceños received their first jab, while 166 of them are done with their second dose to complete the two doses required by the health department for complete protection against the COVID-19.
The first dose of AstraZeneca vaccine was given to 191 HCWs and 207 senior citizens, while 501 HCWs and 183 senior citizens got their first dose of Sinovac.
The LGU is still administering the first dose for senior citizens and those with comorbidities as of May 8, said Rural Health Office head Dr. Susan Anselmo-Se. Naic RHU is now accepting registration for the A4 priority group, which includes public market vendors, bank personnel, security guards and factory workers.
“Sa kapwa ko Naiceños, wag po tayong mag-alinlangan sa pagpapabakuna, huwag po tayong matakot. Ito po ay isang malaking bagay na makakatulong sa ating kinakaharap na pandemya,” Dualan said.
Naic town has 798 confirmed cases as of May 8, with 117 active cases, 654 recovered patients and 27 mortalities.
