Hindi inaayunan ni Ogie Alcasid ang laging sinasabi ng asawa niyang si Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez na tapos na ang panahon nito bilang singer.

“I think she’s still great. I disagree with my wife in that aspect. I think, she’s still ‘the’ Regine that we all…,” sey ni Ogie nang makatsikahan namin recently.

At lagi niya itong sinasabi sa Songbird.

“Ako, lagi kong sinasabi, ‘I disagree with you.’ (At sasabihin ni Regine) ‘Bahala ka sa buhay mo.’

“And ako, when I say, when I kinda put myself down, ano rin siya, ‘hindi, no! Ikaw lang yata ‘yung ganyan!’” kwento ni Ogie.

“So, I think, that’s so healthy that we’re like that. We’re very supportive of each other,” dagdag pa niya.

Hindi raw sila ‘yung tipo ng nakikipagkumpetensiya sa isa’t isa at marahil nga ay isa rin ito sa factors ng kanilang matibay na pagsasama.

“I’m very comfortable in my old skin, I’m very comfortable where I am. Kasi ‘pag sa bahay, ako si daddy, ‘di ba? I’m the boss of the house. Even if Regine is the queen, you know, I am the boss of the house. And she makes me feel that, so, I think, that’s important,” he said.

Ayon pa kay Ogie, feeling niya ay nasa peak pa lang sila ngayon ni Regine ng kanilang relasyon.

“Parang kaming mag-asawa, we’re at our peak in a relationship. Parang sobra kaming… sorry, ang corny, ha? Pero we can’t get enough of each other,” he said.

“And then, when I hear stories that naghihiwalay (ang ibang couple), it makes me feel so sad.

“So, when I talk to my wife, I said, ‘paano ba natin nagagawa ‘to? What are we doing right here?’ And she said, “I think it’s because we really just laugh together,’” dagdag ni Ogie.

Samantala, kasalukuyang pinaghahandaan ng singer-songwriter ang kanyang upcoming concert na Ogieoke The Concert na gaganapin sa Sept. 29 sa Newport Performing Arts Theater.
