THE INVESTIGATION of Pastor Apollo Carreon Quiboloy will continue even when Congress will go on its summer break from March 23rd until April 24th.

This was confirmed Senator Risa Hontiveros, saying her Committeenon Women, Children, Family Relations and Gender Equality will continue its investigation against the founder and leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ.

According to Hontiveros, the Senate will continue its investigation even if it is in recess and many of her colleagues might go on vacation.

Hontiveros said the investigation of the court is different from the ongoing investigation of the Senate, citing the fact that the senate is not a court but is investigating in aid of legislation.

She maintained that although the case of Quiboloy is now forwarded to the court, the Senate may still conduct its investigation and that Quiboloy is still bound to appear in the Senate, more so now that the warrant of arrest is already signed.

However, Hontiveros said Quiboloy is permitted under the law to defend himself, “and it is actually the reason why the Senate is inviting him in order for him to give his side of the story so we can craft the right law. But as I said we can set aside and disregard the rudeness that Quiboloy has shown the Senate.”

Hontiveros said Quiboloy snubbed the committee hearings on January 23, February 19, and March 5 despite being given invitations and a subpoena, and merely sent his legal counsel to attend on his behalf.

She said Quiboloy’s repeated failure to attend the hearings caused the delay of the proceedings.

Hontiveros added.

Quiboloy has been accused by former KOJC members of rape, human trafficking, sexual abuse, and child abuse, among others.
