THE National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) are still in a huddle over the cases to be filed against individuals in the sensational Percy Lapid slay case, including the equally controversial death of middleman Jun Globa Villamor.

Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla revealed this on Friday in a chance interview at the Department of Justice (DOJ) compound in Manila.

“Nag-uusap pa ang NBI and PNP. They’re talking between themselves about the cases they’re filing. Kasi they’re filing more cases on Monday. Kaya we’ll find out. We’re playing it by ear, we’re trying to close everything as early as we can but there are two to three people that we still want to talk to just to be thorough about it,” Remulla said.

When asked by reporters to elucidate about the “two to three people” he was referring to, Remulla said: “They are very high in the Percy Lapid slay chain.”

“Very high in the chain sa Percy Lapid case. Basta within the Percy Lapid case. Kasi we’re talking about two cases. We’re talking about the Villamor case and the Percy Lapid case. It’s more in the Percy Lapid case that we’re sorting out now,” Remulla said.

Earlier, Remulla expressed satisfaction over the progress of the investigation into the Lapid slay case and the death of Villamor.

“The results, it’s very satisfactory, I think we’ve made a lot of progress. I think that we can, the proper cases can be filed by the end of next week, hopefully,” Remulla said.

When asked if the mastermind is already identified, Remulla said, “We have to evaluate everything properly pa. And basta ako, I’m just guiding the investigation.”
