Nat’l outlay bill to undergo scrutiny
A House leader assured the public of a thorough review and swift passage of the proposed 2024 national budget.
House Committee on Appropriations chair Ako Bicol Party-list Representative Elizaldy Co underscored the critical and pressing need for the immediate consideration and passage of the P5.768 trillion 2024 proposed budget.
In his opening statement at an executive meeting on Tuesday, Co expressed his appreciation for the committee’s collective dedication and cooperation in timely passing the FY 2023 budget.
“Your dedication, cooperation, and willingness to lend a helping hand have been the driving force behind its timely passage. I am deeply honored and humbled by the strength of our collective efforts.
“Recognizing the significant impact the 2024 budget can have on the lives of the Filipino people,” Co said.
“Let us also look ahead with renewed optimism and enthusiasm as we again give our full support to the immediate consideration and passage of the P5.768 Trillion FY 2024 proposed budget submitted by the President to Congress last August 2, 2023.
“Our journey continues, and together, we will face these new challenges and build upon the foundation of economic transformation embodied in the Philippine Development Plan 2023-2028,” he added.
