Nasugbu cop succumbs to Hansen’s disease

AN ACTIVE member of the Nasugbu town police died of kidney failure at the town’s hospital, according to a police report.

Tanauan City Police Station Chief Lt. Col. Ariel B. Azurin said the cop was identified as PSSg Reynaldo Villadelrey.

Rowena Villadelrey, the wife of PSSg. Villadelrey who appeared at the Nasugbu Municipal Police Station, reported that at about 8 p.m., her husband was brought to Jabez Medical Center due to difficulty of breathing and immediately advised to be confined at the said hospital for monitoring.

At around 4 a.m. on January 26, 2022, he was declared dead. According to the attending physician, the cause of death was due to kidney failure as a complication of his Hansen disease.

Meanwhile, Talisay town police reported a shooting incident that happened in Bgy. Aya, at 9:30 p.m. the other day.

The victim, police said was identified as Richard Legaspi.

Initial investigations showed that Legaspi was seen driving a color black Yamaha Sporty and traversing at Kalye Gipit in this village when an unidentified suspect suddenly appeared and without apparent reason shot the victim in different parts of the body causing his death.

The suspect fled on foot towards Tanauan City’s direction after the incident according to witnesses.

A dragnet operation was conducted and the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) responded to the incident.

The victim was previously arrested for homicide on June 24, 2016, and another in a buy-bust operation by Talisay police.
