NARVACAN, Ilocos Sur — This coastal town is emerging as favorite hangout of tourists and vacationists due to the sprouting tourism facilities along its coastal areas.

From a sleepy town that was once rocked by political wrangling, Narvacan’s coastal areas have been gradually developed by private businessmen who are setting up hotels and restaurants.

Even League of Municipality of the Philippines president emeritus and former mayor Chavit Singson has urged Vice Mayor Caloy Valera to add more facilities and further boost the tourism program of this town.

Newsmen observed that privately owned beach resorts and hotels such as the newly-established Villa Gloria, a sprawling beach resort and hotel located along Old national highway in Bulanos, The CAMP by Top V hotel located along the national highway, the talk-of-the-town Sulvec beach resort of Chavit Singson, among others, have become magnets for tourists and favorite resting places of vacationists.

Singson told Valera to further develop the coastal area of Narvacan and boost the tourism program of the town, once ruled by Singson as town mayor for three years.
