POLICE Regional Office (PRO) 4-A Director Brigadier General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. on Tuesday lauded the Rizal Police Provincial Office (PPO) for immediately solving the case of a 20-year-old biker who was shot to death in Angono municipality last February 3.

The official said the immediate action of the Rizal PPO headed by Col. Dominic L. Baccay and the Angono Municipal Police Station (MPS) under Henry P. Villagonzalo led to a quick solution to the murder case.

“This is a classic example of how a crime can be immediately solved thru full cooperation between the police force, the local government and the community,” said Nartatez.

An investigation showed that the victim was shot dead by unidentified assassins in front of the Rizal Provincial Hospital System Annex in Angono around 3:45 a.m. last February 3.

The senseless killing of the victim, who was then driving his bike, prompted Angono Mayor Jeri Mae Calderon to offer a P10,000 reward for any information that would lead to the identification and arrest of the killers.

Follow-up operations conducted by the Rizal PPO and the Angono MPS resulted in the suspects’ capture, all residents of Pasig City.

One female suspect was eventually arrested in her residence, while one suspect voluntarily surrendered to the Pasig City Police Station after feeling the heat of the ongoing Rizal police manhunt.

All suspects are now facing murder charges before a local prosecutor’s office.
