AFTER three consecutive weeks of price hikes on gasoline products, motorists heaved a sigh of relief as oil companies announced a rollback of prices.

Chevron Philippines will implement a price cut of its gasoline products by P1.40 per liter, diesel by P0.70 and kerosene by P0.20 effective at 12:01 a.m. today, along with Clean Fuel, which does not sell kerosene.

Two other major oil firms, Petron Corporation and Pilipinas Shell, along with Phoenix Petroleum and Flying V, the country’s biggest independent fuel companies, will implement the same price adjustment on their petroleum products at 6 a.m. Tuesday.

Thai-led PTT Philippines, Petro Gazz, Total Philippines, Unioil Philippines, and Eastern Petroleum in their separate advisories said they will also implement the same price cuts effective at 6 a.m.

PTT Communication Officer Jay Julian said the latest price adjustments on petroleum products reflect movements in the international oil market.
