CABANATUAN CITY – The Nueva Ecija police’s month-long anti-illegal drugs operations led to the arrest of 99 suspected drug traffickers and the confiscation of more than P1.4 million worth of illegal drugs.

Nueva Ecija top cop Col. Richard V. Caballero said his command conducted a total of 72 operations from January 1 to 31 involving buy-bust, arrest and search warrants, and other law enforcement operations, which resulted in the seizure of about 213.36 grams of shabu and 1.2 grams of marijuana, with a combined value of P1,451,016.

Of the 72 operations, two separate drug stings stood out as two high-value individuals were captured in Cabiao town, where about 70.40 grams of shabu worth P478,720 were seized, while another “high-value” individual was nabbed in this city, with authorities seizing 65 grams of illegal drugs worth P442,000 from the suspect.

Of the 32 police stations in the province, it was noted that the Cabanatuan City police conducted eight anti-drug operations followed by Gapan City police with seven, San Jose City, six, Talavera Police Station, four, and San Antonio, four.

Caballero warned the five police stations in Gabaldon, General Natividad, Laur, Lupao, and Zaragosa to double their efforts since they have recorded no accomplishments or operations conducted against illegal drugs for the period.

Caballero said: “NEPPO remains steadfast in its mission to create a drug-free and secure environment for the residents of Nueva Ecija. The successful culmination of this operation sends a clear message that illegal drug activities will not be tolerated, and perpetrators will be held accountable under the full extent of the law.”

He said this is in line with the directives of Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jose S. Hidalgo Jr. to intensify police operations against illegal drugs in Central Luzon.
