Mayor Honey, VM Nieto lead groundbreaking of new school building in Tondo

MANILA Mayor Maria Sheilah “Honey” Lacuna-Pangan and Vice Mayor John Marvin “Yul Servo” Nieto led the groundbreaking ceremony of the new six-story Emilio Jacinto Elementary School on Thursday morning in Tondo, Manila.

Mayor Lacuna-Pangan said this was the second groundbreaking ceremony she attended within a week, the first was at Aurora A. Quezon Elementary School in Malate, Manila, on December 1.

“Ito po ay bahagi ng ating pagsisikap o pagsisikap ng ating pamahalaan, sa tulong ng Kagawaran ng Edukasyon, na matugunan natin ang mga pangangailangan ng mga batang Manilenyo sa kanilang pag-aaral sa ating mga pampublikong paaralan. Saan ka ba naman nakakita, pampublikong paaralan nga, pero mga de kalidad na mga pampublikong paaralan ang ating ipinatatayo,” Mayor Honey said.

The mayor said they will inaugurate the 10-story Manila Science High School on Taft Avenue, before December 25, and will be followed by Rosauro Almario Elementary School, Dr. Albert Elementary School, and hopefully next year, the Ramon Magsaysay High School.

Mayor Honey said upon completion, the school would have 35 fully air-conditioned classrooms, three science laboratories, home economics room. three TLE rooms, a faculty room, a library social hall, and outdoor sports at the roof deck.
