PAGUDPUD, Ilocos Norte – Governor Matthew Joseph Marcos Manotoc on Wednesday afternoon assured the tandem of former Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. (BBM) and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte of “solid” support, not just from the province but from the entirety of Ilocandia.

“We thank them, we welcome them and of course we pledge our support to the BBM-Sara slate entirely and ito pong Ilocos Norte na probinsya po natin ay hindi naman ganun karami ang boto, pero solid naman ang boto namin. And I’m sure solid din ang boto ng Ilocandia para sa BBM-Sara ticket,” Manotoc said in an ambush interview at Bergblick Restaurant here.

Manotoc is the nephew of leading presidential candidate Marcos, standard-bearer of the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP).

On Wednesday afternoon, vice presidential candidate Duterte arrived in Pagudpud to do sorties ahead of the big rally planned for the BBM-Sara UniTeam tandem later that day in Paoay.

“Unang-una nagpapasalamat po kami kay Uncle Bong, our former senator Bongbong Marcos and to Mayora Inday Sara Duterte for coming and not taking Ilocos Norte or Ilocandia for granted,” the governor said.

“Kasi alam naman po natin na medyo expected na buhos ang mga boto para sa kanila. Subalit pumunta pa rin sila to show their support for our ‘kakailian’, our–mga fellow Ilocanos,” he added.

Ilocos Norte is the home province of Marcos.
