THE distribution of the social amelioration program (SAP) in Manila has been 100 percent completed on Tuesday, way ahead of the May 15 deadline given by the national government for the purpose.

This was announced by Mayor Isko Moreno, as he thanked and commended efforts of the city personnel under the city’s department of social welfare headed by Re Fugoso for the expeditious and orderly distribution of the said financial aid.

Moreno also thanked President Rodrigo Duterte, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Department of National Defense (DND) for the more than P1.5 billion handed over to the city as he reported the 100 percent completion of the SAP distribution within 35 days of operations.

“Masaya po kami Mr. President… natupad namin ang pangarap mo para sa mga tao. Nagawa ahead of time and I’’m proud of my co-workers in City Hall, sa mga daycare workers at social workers na tumulong… kahit madaling araw o gabi, umulan o umaraw di sila tumigil na yakapin lahat,” Moreno said.

“We fulfilled your goal to give this as soon as possibl. Within 35 days, ayan na po todas na.. 100 pecent nadale na natin hanggang kahuli-hulihang sentimo,” he enthused.

Citing a report forwarded by Fugoso, the mayor said a total of 380,820 families have received P4,000 each in financial assistance from the national government.

The mayor also thanked those who listened to his advice and those who wrote him, in the hope of being included in the beneficiaries of the said cash aid.

Based on reports that some of those in the list of recipients were either already dead, no longer living in Manila or have left the city for various other reasons, Moreno allotted the budget intended for them to those belonging to the next category of beneficiaries based on a joint memorandum circular governing the distribution of the said funds.

As such, over 38,000 were reconsidered and the number includes those belonging to barangays that did not submit any list earlier on.

“Sa mga regular na nanonood, salamat at nakikinig kayo sa akin na sumulat kayo. I am happy to be of service and to give chance to others. Sabi sa inyo pag me sumobra punta tayo sa number 4. Humigit-kumulang 38,000 ang reconsidered. Maraming salamat sa national government, dumating ang tulong nyo sa taumbayan through the efforts ng mga kasamang naglilingkod sa pamahalaang-lungsod ng Maynila. We give credit where it is due,” Moreno said.
