Man nabbed over bomb scare at Laguna mall
A MAN who shouted he had a bomb attached to his body on Friday was arrested for creating alarm on mall shoppers at SM Calamba in Laguna.
Calamba City police chief Lt. Col. Milany Martirez identified the arrested suspect as Fernan Manaig, a resident of Calamba City, Laguna.
Manaig was nabbed for causing panic on mall shoppers.
An investigation showed the suspect entered the entrance 4 at the supermarket area of the mall then shouted “May bomba ako sa katawan” twice while raising the t-shirt he was wearing, creating fear among shoppers at 6:20 p.m. on Friday.
The man even ran inside the supermarket that further scared the mall goers.
An alert security guard immediately arrested Manaig and turned him over to police.
A case for violation of Presidential Decree 1727 (Declaring as Unlawful the Malicious Dissemination of False Information of the Willful Making of Any Threat Concerning Bombs, Explosive or any Similar Device or Means of Destruction and Imposing Penalties Therefor) was filed against the arrested suspect.
