Mabalacat City, Pampanga – With this city attaining the highest vaccination rate in Central Luzon based on the IATF report, Mayor Crisostomo Garbo pledged to support other local government units in Pampanga in their vaccination program.

“Dahil nakuha na natin ang 90% sa ating target population, I am willing to help other LGUs like Magalang, Angeles City and even outside Pampanga para makatulong po tayo na mapabilis ang kanilang pagbabakuna,” Garbo said.

Garbo said the success of the city’s vaccination drive was made possible through the efforts of local government departments in partnership with the city’s stakeholders.

“Kaunting panahon na lamang po at matatamasa na natin ang herd immunity sa pamamagitan ng pagbakuna sa target population ng siyudad,” Garbo added.

Latest census from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA 2020) shows that Mabalacat City has a total of 293,244 residents.

The Mabalacat City government targets 70% of its eligible population or 198,001 residents to be vaccinated to attain herd immunity.

Based on the IATF data, a total of 180,770 (87.97%) of the eligible population have already been vaccinated with their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 123,061 (66.52%) have received their complete doses of COVID-19 vaccine. With these data, the IATF sees herd immunity in Mabalacat City achievable by December.
