THE Land Transportation Office (LTO) has slapped a 90-day temporary preventive suspension on two motorists who figured in a viral confrontation last week in Makati City.

At the same time, LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor Mendoza II said a Show Cause Order (SCO) was also issued against Police Staff Sgt. Marsan Dolipas, and Angelito Rencio identified themselves as a member of the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines based on the report of the incident by the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) and

Their driver’s licenses were revoked. The SCO was issued by the LTO-National Capital Region headed by Director Roque Verzosa III.

“Ang agarang nating aksyon ay alinsunod sa kautusan ng ating DOTr Secretary Jaime Bautista na maging mabilis sa pagtugon laban sa mga tao na itinuturing nating banta sa kaligtasan ng mga motorista,” Mendoza said.

Based on the NCRPO report, Police Staff Sgt. Marsan Dolipas was driving his vehicle with license plate TJO-306 along Osmeña Highway in Barangay Pio Del Pilar, Makati City on August 25 when his car was hit by the motorcycle being driven by Rencio.

A confrontation ensued and it was then that Police Staff Sgt. Dolipas noticed a gun tucked on Rencio’s waist which prompted him to grab it. Responding policemen then took Rencio under their custody along with the confiscated firearm.
